Why the Need to Hide?

The huge “Elephant in the Room” that is Critical Race Theory, has blown up our airwaves with daily coverage and discussion. I doubt there is one person reading this that doesn’t have an opinion about CRT, for or against. It is perhaps the most divisive public discussion I’ve seen since the Viet Nam War. The people pushing for its inclusion as a staple of public school curriculum or college courses are some of the most self-loathing people I’ve ever seen. Their self-imposed “victimhood” leaves no room for self-esteem or even simple joy.
While we should be having a more robust discussion on the merits of letting, even encouraging, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to swarm our southern border, CRT proponents are waving their hands wildly “look over here!”
To some extent I almost believe that’s deliberate. It reminds me of Ripley as she tries to get the Alien’s attention away from Nute. If you can divide people’s attention and get them to focus on what is just below their nose, they won’t have the bandwidth to look over yonder. And nothing works better than race baiting. It’s a simple tried and true formula for social distraction.
A central component of CRT is to hide that it is being taught or what is being taught. It’s now apparent that the worst part of the Covid lockdowns was parents having full access to what goes on in the classroom. Before Covid, a student might have come home and spouted some new found belief and the parent would be left thinking “Where did Johnny come up with that idea?”
Now the parent knows and they’re not happy about it.
A few months ago a training seminar for teachers was held in Santa Clara, California. The leader of the workshop, Jorge Pacheco, laid out a curriculum that labeled the early European settlers of that state “oppressors.” I thought it odd, if not comical, that a Mexican man would label his own ancestors as oppressors in a context that they were “those people over there” that he had no connection with.
What I didn’t find funny was that he told the teachers to make sure the parents weren’t in the room as they were teaching fundamentals of CRT. If CRT is so great and so enlightening, then what’s the need to hide it? Lay it out on the table for all to see.
The only reason CRT has become such a front row topic is that parents were exposed to it either through Johnny’s zoom lesson or that teachers were quietly and anonymously sending out the curriculum via Facebook private messaging or in emails to their friends.
I was able to be part of a group that got that information on the “down low” and I turned around and emailed it to reporters of various publications. The name of the “teacher leaker” was omitted. I even got asked if the teacher would be willing to be interviewed and had to report back that “no” they were afraid of losing their jobs.
Which brings me to something else. If CRT is so awesome why are teachers and parents so afraid of what will happen to them if they expose it. Sounds pretty unhealthy to me. School administrators and even community members threatening teachers and parents. The “woke” parts of the community are behaving more like those angry whites standing outside the school house door in Alabama than the “enlightened brave” standard bearers on a mission to eradicate racism.
It’s like when your mom said “here, eat this” and you asked “what’s in it?” and she replied “you don’t need to know what’s in it, just eat it.” Not exactly a confidence builder.
There’s a parallel between the secrecy of CRT and what is happening at our southern border. People are being processed and then put on planes and busses and shipped out all over the country, often in the dead of night.
The latest revelation is the Biden Administration is using Laughlin Air Force Base and our military to do the shipping. And we, the American tax payer, are not allowed to ask who these people are or where they’re being shipped, we’re just expected to shut up and pay the bill.
The Washington Post’s motto that “Democracy Dies in Darkness” is damn true Skippy. And that might be the whole point, there are people who want Democracy to Die. If they didn’t then why do they hide what their intentions are and what they are doing? Why do threats and intimidation have to be deployed?
I say instead of hiding CRT or the illegal migration, throw a whopping big parade and shout it to the roof tops! See how great this is? How wonderful it makes our country become? How enriching it is to the hearts and souls of our citizenry? How fabulous this is to the success of our children? See what great things we have accomplished through these policies?
They can’t and they won’t because they know deep in their beany little brains what they are doing is evil. And like the story of Adam and Eve hiding from God in the Garden, they’re hoping they won’t be caught with their pants down.
