Me Too, But Not You

If you’ve been wondering where the #MeToo “movement” has been these days, I can guarantee you without a shadow of a doubt, they are not south of the Texas border.
As suspected, the #MeToo movement is exclusively for Hollywood debutantes and rarified Ivy League institutions. Alyssa Milano, Ashley Judd and Jennifer Lawrence won’t be marching through the Darien Gap wearing Pussy Hats and sporting megaphones any time soon.
But for women trekking to the U.S. Border from Central America and parts south, #MeToo is not just a Tweeter hashtag it is a brutal reality. However, not so much of a reality that our own Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, could provide any statistical information on female rape and molestation to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) during a Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing yesterday.
The heated exchange went like this:
“How many women have been sexually assaulted or been trafficked into this country in 2021?” he asked.
An apparently stunned Mayorkas responded: “Senator, I have no ability to determine how many women have been sexually assaulted in Mexico along the migratory path.”
“All right, how about this?” Cruz asked. “How many children have been sexually assaulted by traffickers or other people when they were coming in illegally?”
“I do not have that data,” admitted Mayorkas.
Mayorkas doesn’t seem to have the data, but Doctors Without Borders does and they released a report last summer detailing the level of sexual assault on women making the journey to the United States.[1]
The Washington Times reported on this story as far back as June 10, 2021. You’d think Mayorkas would have gotten wind of it and put together a team of “data gatherers” and sent them off to the Rio Grande Valley to investigate. His Department seems to know the exact number of illegals that show up Covid positive because they test everyone they come into contact with.
Meanwhile, the Left in this country think it’s just awesome that all these people are streaming across our southern border and those of us who don’t want immigration to be done that way are just awful heartless human beings.
In their brainless loyalty to a false ideal they conveniently leave out the part where the Coyotes are exploiting women and children, both for labor and for sexual assault. Many of these women and young girls (and boys) will be picked out for the sex slave trade and sent to the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Miami, Los Angeles, Denver and so on to “earn” their keep for the drug cartels. Speaking of which, the drug cartels have figured out that human trafficking is a lot safer and more lucrative than smuggling drugs such as Fentanyl.
So it leaves me asking “Where is #MeToo?”
You know the answer…nowhere to be found.
Having a discussion about poor brown and black women who are being sold into slavery doesn’t fit in their liberal narrative of the “Noble Immigrant.” They are sticking to their childish narrative of “people are just coming for a better life and you who oppose it are white supremacists rubes, maybe even "Nazis.” This "script" absolves them of having a real discussion of what immigration should look like if we are to maintain a sovereign nation.
The same people who force fans to wait in long lines to get into their latest concerts, are diametrically opposed to having people wait in line for the privilege of pursuing the American Dream.
And that’s just the tip of it, these are the same people who marched on Washington screaming their heads off and launched a modern day lynching against a Supreme Court Justice nominee.
But when it comes to those south of the border, their attitude is #MeToo, But Not You.
